"Untitled Track", the new film from Evangel's Film WorkshopEVANGEL STUDENTS PRODUCE ROMANTIC COMEDY ON FILM
(Springfield, MO) The fourteen students of the Film Workshop and their adviser, Dr .Cameron Pace, are in the midst of producing their spring film Untitled Track. The 40-minute film is a romantic comedy about a songwriter named Evan (Josh DeForrest) who finds inspiration one day while breaking up with his girlfriend Jane (Kayla Sanders). He receives a music publishing contract, but it is dependent on his writing of more songs. His roommate, Steve (Kyle VanKirk), suggests breaking up with more girls, and that’s when things get crazy. Speaking of crazy, he finds himself in a relationship with one strange girl (Claire Hoehammer) who thinks she owns him.

The film is directed by Keith Larsen and produced by BJ Swartzentruber. The director of photography is Trevor Ekanger. Special original music has been written for the film by Brandon Montoya. The screenplay was written by Ellie Chase with assistance by Keith Larsen and other workshop students. The film will be shown to the public in Zimmerman Hall room 105 on April 17, 2009. Showtimes are at 5:30, 7:15, and 9:00 PM. Admission will be only $2.00 per person at the door.

The production is shot in high-definition digital video. Film Workshop adviser, Dr. Cameron Pace said, “After doing a thriller last semester, we wanted to do something that was fun, but had a love story as well.” The Film Workshop meets each semester at Evangel University with one goal – to make a feature-style film. A few recently-produced student films will be shown just prior to Untitled Track.

One scene in the film was shot on location during a battle of the bands concert in the Evangel Mabie Center. The concert, Amplified, created the perfect backdrop for Josh’s debut as a musical artist in the film. Other locations used for the film around the community included Lighthouse Lanes, the Mabie fitness center, various homes, and a local park.
