Frantic Films Begins Production On Commercial Street Tuesday

SavorAccording to the Springfield Business Journal, Frantic Films is scheduled to arrive in Springfield on Aug. 24 and begin production at Savor, located at 234 E. Commercial Street, for their new series The Opener. The restaurant was originally named Savor Bakehouse & Cafe but has been shortened at the recommendation of David Adjey.

Adjey is the star of the series, previously seen as a competitor on Iron Chef and star of Restaurant Makeover. In this real life one-hour documentary series, Chef Adjey helps newbie restaurateurs open their dream restaurant – often with their life’s savings on the line. The show premieres August 31 on Food Network Canada.

SBJ.net also notes that Adjey will be on hand for opening night, scheduled for September 6th. Savor is owned by Erik Kinkade and William Peak. Peak, the restaurant’s executive chef, was trained through the culinary arts program at Ozarks Technical Community College, has worked in the kitchens at Flame Steakhouse and Touch, and he most recently was head chef at Metropolitan Grill. Kinkade, who will serve as front of house and business manager, owned Springfield-based Rock and Water LLC, which created fountains, coral reef tanks and oversized lighting for hotels, convention centers, theme parks and zoos. He sold the company a year ago, and Savor is his first go-round in the restaurant business.
