The Missouri Film Office will close on June 30, 2011. After almost 30 years, established in 1983, funding for the film office allocated by the Missouri State Legislature was vetoed by Governor Jay Nixon on June 10, 2011. We are working to ensure the website with the production crew and support services database will continue to be active with the Division of Tourism.

It is sad news for the production community in Missouri. It has been my great pleasure to work as the assistant director for the last six years. I am very proud to have been a part of the many movies, TV segments, and commercials shot in our beautiful state. Especially close to my heart are the two Missouri-made movies that received Oscar nominations the last two years, Up in the Air and Winter’s Bone.

The above note was sent by Andrea Sporcic, Assistant Director of the office that was headed by Jerry Jones since its inception. Thank you for your efforts Jerry and Andrea and good luck.
