Mingled with scenes from the daily lives of these four where little things can become monumental and are often very funny, we see moments of great poignancy and compassion and learn that all of us share the desire for love, laughter and some meaning and purpose in our lives.

Nate Wragg grew up in Davis, a small town in Northern California. After High School he moved down to LA and went to CAL ARTS for three years. Studied animation under James Baxter for a summer, and now works at PIXAR as an artist.

Some great art. Hat tip to Frank Chimero, an MSU graduate responsible for the 1st Friday Art Walk graphic among other fine examples of the graphic arts.

Cinema St. Louis is proud to announce that submissions for the 8th annual 2008 St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2008.

Official submission application and entry rules.

The event runs Sunday-Thursday, July 19-24, 2008
July 19: Filmmaking Seminar/Film Program, Centene Center for Arts & Education
July 20-23: Film Programs, Tivoli Theatre
July 24: Closing-Night Awards Party, Blueberry Hill

The St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase (SLFS), an annual presentation of the nonprofit Cinema St. Louis, serves as the area’s primary venue for films made by local artists. With advances in affordable digital filmmaking, more and more movies are being made in St. Louis and environs, but opportunities for moviegoers to see that work are scarce, because few of the films ever screen commercially. SLFS frequently provides the only chance area filmmakers have to display their talents on the big screen.

SLFS is held at the Tivoli Theatre in the vibrant Delmar Loop entertainment district. A carefully renovated art-deco theater from the 1920s with a 450-seat main auditorium, the Tivoli is regularly voted St. Louis’ favorite theater in the Riverfront Times’ annual “Best of St. Louis” poll. The event annually screens works that were written, directed, edited, or produced by St. Louis natives or those with strong local ties featuring 15-20 programs over five days, ranging from full-length fiction features and documentaries to multi-film compilations of fiction and documentary shorts. Highlights include
post-screening talks with filmmakers, lively seminars on the moviemaking process, and a closing-night party at Blueberry Hill that features announcements of SLFS films chosen for inclusion in the St. Louis
International Film Festival and awards given by the St. Louis Gateway Film Critics Association.

Heya folks! After two years sitting in my “to do” pile, the Hutfield/McShy, 20 minute short is done, posted on the net, entered into the Moxie shorts fest and distributed out to all the participants. I can garantee that the lessons learned will make our next project something special! Oh yeah, our next project… For some time I’ve been touting the concept of a film inspired by that popular 90′s video game, Redneck Rampage. Well, that title has been optioned from a French media mega-corporation by Columbia Pictures but that doesn’t mean that I cannot push forward with my own screenplay simultaneously, as redneck zombie fever may break just around the corner.. The Albino Farm movie is in post at this very moment! I see a genre lurching about not too far in the distance.

I would like to invite anyone who is interested to get ahold of me in regard to participation in my project which is in pre-production now and will be shot in the springtime. At this time we are looking for assistance in these areas..

+ additional make-up special effects persons or assistants

+ a fight choreographer

+ a location scout who can also perform the task of securing locations (locations needed are presently a farm with a tall wooden fence somewhere on the property and a small town square)

+ a prop master (we hope to appropriate a convertable car, a motorcycle and a school bus)

We already have a weapons handler and some great actors on board for the project but we need..

+ a young actress who has some martial arts experience

This film will be produced on industry-grade equipment and will be shot in early spring. The film will be released to an international audience. We promise that the participants will be rewarded for their efforts and hope to offer them some recompense at the time of their initial contributions.

I will accept any level of participation.. even if you just wanna be a zombie, get ahold of me ASAP! And spread the word! Maybe you missed out on the Albino Farm movie, DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS!

As always, thanks for all your support! -Johnno

A young man in boxer shorts stares at himself in the bathroom mirror. Drink twice if he wears a white dress shirt. Drink three times if he puts on cologne.
