The Joplin Globe offers more details, including information on an open casting call on Saturday March 5th

JOPLIN, Mo. — An open casting call for extras to appear in a new feature film, “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde,” will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Joplin Holiday Inn.

The film, which is scheduled to begin pre-production in late April, will be shot partly in Joplin and area towns, as well as cities in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Filmmaker Tonya S. Holly, with Cypress Moon Productions, over the weekend was in Joplin scouting for locations to film and to pick up background information on the Depression-era outlaws that was put together by the Joplin Museum Complex.

“We look forward for production to begin on ‘The Story of Bonnie and Clyde,’ and we are excited to look for talent from Joplin and its surrounding areas to appear in the film,” said Holly, who wrote the original screenplay and will direct and produce the movie.

Men, women, and children 10 and older are being sought as extras for the film. Interested parties must take a photo, contact information and/or resume to the casting call. People who are not available for the casting call may mail their information to Cypress Moon Studios, 1000 Alabama Ave., Sheffield, AL 35660.

According to Variety

Tonya S. Holly will direct the film from her own script, which is a new adaptation of the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow rather than a remake of the 1967 classic film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family’s property.

And to provide background on the Barrow’s, here’s a blog on the History of Bonnie and Clyde

The production will be taking place during the last weekend of March from March 25th to March 28th.

What: Casting Call – Summer of the Spy
When: Saturday February 20th, 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
Where: Strong Hall, Room 150
Missouri State University campus

Note that Children auditions will run from 11:00-2:00 PM and adult auditions will run from 3:00-7:00 PM.

We are looking for:

JOSH: he needs to be a male child actor (7-12) who is eager to be on set and has some experience in acting. This part is the lead role, it is a child who is highly interested in becoming a spy, is bored of daily routines, somewhat inquisitive, full of life, and full of mischief.

NADINE: this is our strongest supporting role we are looking for women from (20-80) years of age. Originally, this part was written to be a “grandma” but to help expand the potential acting pool this character can be altered to fit a younger actress into an “aunt.” In the story, this character is the main guide for Josh, she loves simple things, baking pies, and being the independent woman she is. If you have any training in stunts, you may want to consider this part; if you do not have training in stunts I would highly encourage you to still tryout for this role.

CALLISTO: the mother of Josh who will need to be in the age range of (25-40s): an eccentric, somewhat spacey mother who contrasts the role of her husband.

FRANK: the father of Josh who will need to be in the age range of (25-40s): a straight laced, pay the bills, stay practical kind of father.

ELDERLY WOMAN: this part may be altered to fit an actor who shows an understanding of humor, timing, and delivery. Originally this is written for an “elderly woman.” This character is derived from a backwards rural type of setting where electricity has no place.

SPIES: we are in need of around 6 SPIES who are trained/experienced in stunts whether parkour, kickboxing, combat, etc. If anyone knows of any local bouncers that may be interested, please send them the word as well.

We’re hoping for a nice turnout this upcoming weekend. If you would like to audition for a part please visit this website to sign-up

Please remember to go through e-mail confirmation to complete your audition setup time.

If there are any additional questions please call (816)-868-5619 for Mike Rogers.

Thank you so much for your time.

Synopsis
DREEMOR tells the story of Christian Luff, a decorated space captain whose inner torment begins when his ship’s artificial intelligence reunites him with his dead wife and daughter. Upon seeing them, his mind swells with doubt over his controversial mission: deliver a planet bomb to the enemy’s home world.

ABOARD the spaceship ISAC (Interstellar Ship Automated System), Christian is confronted with questions of loyalty and virtue. Entering a virtual reality, known as the JAN Protocol, Christian must cipher through the relics of his subconscious and learn to become self-aware. His guide is none other than Jan, a picture perfect psychiatrist, whose directive is to ensure the commanders psychological welfare.

DREEMOR is a fantastic journey through the consciousness of a common man. Vivid colors and breathtaking imagery prepare THE DREEMOR to be an astonishing independent film.
