Permits
As a film-friendly state, Missouri typically requires fewer production permits than many other states. If you have questions concerning specific permits not referenced below, contact the Missouri Film Office at 573-882-1046 or via email at mofilm@missouri.edu.
Location Permits
Local film permits are not usually required in Missouri. Most city, county, and state-owned property, facilities, and equipment may be accessed for free. Occasionally these facilities must be rented. Permits are generally required to film in national parks, forests, recreational areas, or monuments.
Advance communication with the Missouri Film Office is recommended to prevent time-consuming delays and unnecessary expenses.
Child labor permits
Children under 16 years of age who will be working as a performer in the entertainment industry must secure an entertainment work permit from the Missouri Division of Labor Standards.
Additional information on a variety of other permits (such as motor carrier permits) can be found on the Missouri Film Commission website at: http://www.missouribusiness.net/film/permits.asp
