FAQ
# What if I am registering as an individual, rather than an Organization
Answer: Enter your name and email in the Organization name and Organization email boxes. That will ensure that your listing shows up under your name. Use the Organization Description to describe your services or list your skill sets. This and the keywords section are important. A producer looking for Final Cut Pro expertise will enter that in the Search box and find anyone with that info listed. We’ll have categories soon.
# What happens after I submit my listing?
Answer: You will see a blank page form following your submission. The listing will then go into a queue for approval by the webmaster. You can expect your listing to be approved within 48 hours if not sooner, I check the site once a day generally.
# Can a person who submits a listing make edits?
Answer: No, the way you deal with this situation is to delete the entry, and submit again. The submission form only takes a couple minutes to complete. Contact the webmaster to address this.
# Do I have to be a member of MFAS to submit?
Answer: No, we are interested in promoting the industry overall. We hope that there are other services and support offerings that will earn your hard-earned cash however.
# What type of keywords and descriptions should I use?
Answer: This form populates a database. Think about how a visitor might find you – are you an actor or actress? in pre- or post-production? expertise in FCP or Avid? We anticipate a more complete database that will capture these categories but for now this will ensure we include you in the Directory and users can search your listing now.
# How large a description can I offer?
Answer: The form handles 800 characters. Like any resume, or ‘elevator pitch’ you might make, keep it to the point while covering the bases that make you as interesting as possible to a director, producer, or other hiring agency.
# Why does the Join Form ask for address info when it doesn’t show up in the listing?
Answer: We use this info in the search function; users can actually search by state, etc. In a future release we will have an option to display additional information.
