A portion of the night&#8217;s proceeds will help <a href="http://mjf.missouristate.edu/Scholarships">underwrite their scholarship in digital filmmaking.</a></p>
<p>The films to be shown are:</p>
<p>1. Overcome – 90 seconds &#8211; directed by Ben Bumgarner, animation by Matt Raithel &#038; Nathanial Fuller, sound design by Doug Storm. A girl and robot face off for a game of one-on-one in this spec&#8230; commercial for the WNBA.</p>
<p>2. The Greasy Wrench &#8211; James Rutherford, animator, sound design and original music by: Anthony Ciston, Geoff Green, &#038; Ryan Walther. A robot runs into a problem in a greasy spoon restaurant.</p>
<p>3. Tide of Dreams – 2:24 – Patrick Dunegan, Joe Protenic, Kevin Gates and Robert Rosener. An experimental film about a young man who’s followed throughout the city by his imagination.</p>
<p>4. Have You Ever Been There &#8211; 4:00 &#8211; county pop music video.</p>
<p>5. Pretend – 35:00 – written and directed by Doug Johnston, produced by Lydia Mann, sound design and original music by Daniel Kirkpatrick. A talented writer learns there’s more to life when he encounters his young nephew and the spirit that looks over the young boy.</p>
<p>6. The Creation Story – 1 ½ min &#8212; Daniel Quintanilla, Rodney Eddings, Phil Swope and Ben Pfeiffer. An experimental short about an artist and the process of visualizing an idea.</p>
<p>7. Mannequin – 5 min – written, directed and animated by Art Weisen, original music by Reed Roye. A David and Goliath inspired animation about a confrontation between two art-school mannequins.</p>
<p>8. Marble Rye – 12 min – directed by Max Rosen. The story of a woman who faces her fear of the world.</p>
<p>9. Cloud City Music video – 5 min – featuring the local band by the same name.</p>
<p>10. Sporky – 8 min – written, directed and animated by Ross Story, sound design by Mike Fieldson, original music by Baron Roberts. Animated film about a Spork who takes on a gang of bad guys led by Xacto.</p>
<p>11. Apollo – 40 min. &#8212; directed by Bryan Manning, original music and sound design by Jeffrey Brown, visual effects by Blaine Morehead. Visually stunning sci-fi story about a man searching for love on a dying planet.</p>

Three of the productions are based off award-winning scripts. &#8220;The Death of Alfred Bailey&#8221; placed in the Broadcast Educators Association (BEA) Media Arts Festival in Las Vegas earlier this year. &#8220;Nothing Rhymes with Orange&#8221; won for best screenplay at the Missouri Broadcast Educator&#8217;s annual competition. The science fiction drama &#8220;Apollo&#8221; received honorable mention. Portions of &#8220;Apollo&#8221; were shot at the Landers Theatre. All four productions were the result of student work in the Media, Journalism and Film department at Missouri State University.</p>
