FILM DIRECTORY “The Small Business Guide to Video” will provide an educational tool for regional businesses on the value of video in promoting their business. It will include a complete Directory (complete your free listing now!) as well as a Film Production Guide for out-of-state producers interested in learning more about Southwest Missouri.

Articles of interest related to the Small Business Guide to Video and the Film Production Guide are being solicited. Be featured as a content writer and thought leader regionally. Contact us

Question – Members with multiple payments since 2004? Member will receive listing credit for each multiple of the $75 Professional membership fee paid into the organization during that period.

SPRINGFIELD 417 – The Movie
Phil Secca and Sarah Wilson-Kessinger, Producers announced new partnership with MFAS to assist in funding and promotion of the feature film. Additionally the production will increase the opportunities to network, identify shared equipment resources and introduce participants to new cast and crew lists. Contact us regarding submitting a script or registering as a director or Director of Photography.

With Art Walk coming up this weekend (along with Arts Fest) it means you only have a few days remaining to visit the Coffee Ethic to see the photos of Jess Heugel. Jess is a member of the Board of the Missouri Film Alliance of Springfield and for a few days more, a photojournalist at the Springfield News-Leader. The photos were shot on freelance assignments for the World Missions department of the Assemblies of God. They were taken in Columbia (August 2007) Sudan (October 2007) and Vanuatu (November 2007).

Jess is a partner in the Human Picture Initiative and he’ll be focusing on that work as well as continuing some freelance work for the Assemblies of God now that his time at the News-Leader comes to an end. Congratulations Jess!

Weekend ($40) and Saturday Film Maker Passes ($25) are available online or at The Coffee Ethic at 124 Park Central Square.

Remember that the Passes also entitle you to entrance at the Film Maker Celebration Saturday night at Nonna’s Italian Cafe where the Festival Film Makers and members of the Missouri Film Alliance, your hosts, will be celebrating the art of film making. Come join us! $10 at the door.
